There is nothing like spending the day exploring
and discovering new places.
My friend, Melissa, and I set off before sunrise headed
to St. Francisville, La for a day full of fun.
The drive over went from downtown city life to the
beautiful country side. As we drove the highway out to St. Francisville,
we saw beautiful countryside and gorgeous homes.
We were oohing and awwing over the mansions and houses.
St. Francisville is small and quaint, simple and sweet,
beautiful and safe.
We were told that it was safe for us two girls to walk around
town alone, as long as we didn't walk out in front of a car!
That told us how safe it was:-)
The sights were beautiful...gorgeous oak trees,
lovely homes, brick sidewalks lining the streets,
graveyards dating back to the civil war,
ornate iron fences, beautiful landscape, old church buildings,
beautiful wooden doors and yummy healthy food at Magnolia Cafe'.
After staying in the town for a few hours we got in the car
and drove around looking at the plantation homes.
Thanks to a self-timer we have a few "friend" shots
together!
Thanks to a wonderful friend I actually have pictures of
Me:-) As the photographer I laugh and say
that in years to come there will be no proof
that I was living because I'm always behind the camera!!!!!! ha
After exploring St. Francisville we came back through
Baton Rouge and got a wild hair to explore it!
We stopped off at the Louisiana State Capitol then I let Melissa
drive because I CAN'T parallel park!!!! I just told you!
I can't parallel park and I don't want to learn while
there are 5 other cars behind me:-)
So we then drove around downtown Baton Rouge,
saw the Governor's mansion and drove around the same block 4 times fighting
one way streets and looking for
a parallel parking spot to get coffee...with no luck we hit the interstate home
and hit up the old faithful Starbucks!
Our last stop was a little bit of shopping in Hammond:-)
Such an awesome day with a great friend making memories!
