A spur of the moment session is usually the best!

I ended up doing a mini session of my friend Melissa in one of her favorite places on the OU Campus in Norman. The Reading room, in the library, it has 1000s of books which is right up her alley, so quite, peaceful and beautiful!

As she's showing me around, with my camera in hand, all that's going through my head is wow this is some amazing light. I looked at her about the time she looked at me, and we were both thinking the same thing:-) She asked if I would mind taking a couple of pictures of her in the Reading Room since it's her favorite place on campus! I was like suuurrreeee, I was just going to ask you to stand over there (pointing and showing her how to pose!!!).

Although Melissa is a music major earning her Masters in Piano Pedagogy on the top of her list of things to do is...reading!

So the question is am I still alive?!?!?!

YES!!!!!

Have I stopped blogging?!?!?!

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My life and schedule have been so crazy and so full

of great stuff that I can't wait to share it with y'all!!!

So all of that to say I'm here and there are some

amazing sessions that I will be blogging this weekend!

I also have another Basic Photography Class I'm teaching this Saturday so keep your eye for another amazing group of aspiring photographers.

Anyway I'll leave you with a picture from my amazing trip to Oklahoma this past weekend.

This is me with my new addiction: boba tea aka bubble tea...pretty amazing in my opinion!!!

Katie is full of life, personality, smiles, laughs and fun!

I love seeing her personality through these pictures!

It's a time when I'd say..."that's soooo Katie"!!!

Her senior session was a total blast!

We jumped from one place to another...changed outfits...laughed...and ran up on some cool places...such as a library:-)

Soooo fitting, because I know one thing about Katie she LOVES to read:-)

Congratulations Katie!! I wish you the best in the next phase of life!!!

Keep your eyes on the Lord and you will do amazing things!

Time in Alabama | Erin Rachel Photography

For the past 6 or 7 years my grandmother, "Nana", has suffered from alzheimer's disease. Last Wednesday morning she took her last breath here on earth to then go spend eternity in Heaven. What a peace in knowing that she is with the Lord and we will see her again. She left behind a Godly heritage, one that I know pleases the Lord. This quick snap shot was taken at my sisters wedding 2 1/2 years ago...if you knew "Nana" she always had a smile on her face and so friendly to everyone. Even though she may not have known who you were she was still kind and knew how to carry on a conversation!

...time spent with a loved one is a gift...

After the funeral services we helped my grand dad clean up the house. We worked like crazy, it was one of those days where you don't sit down until you realize it's time to eat dinner!

After a rainy day inside, I saw the sun setting and I was like...O0o00Oo0 it's amazing light. As a photographer you're always looking at light:-) So I went outside for literally 5 minutes. Set a goal for myself...I had to stay in my grandparents "yard" and sometimes I just don't like boundaries!!! So I played around with some camera settings and came up with a few pretty good looking images...that is in my opinion:-)

Pfister Family | Erin Rachel Photography

Last Saturday was a beautiful day and I had the pleasure to meet the Pfister family at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, La. After scheduling this session about 8 weeks ago, the first date got rained out!!! I was so happy that the second date worked, we couldn't have picked a better afternoon. I had so much fun with this family and especially the kids.

Poor Harrison was getting tired of looking at me, smiling and not getting to play...Do you blame him??? No- not when you have your cousins around and you're in the wide open on a beautiful afternoon!! But I love this image and the connection!

You may remember a few months ago I met Harrison and his cousins for a photo session. We had a lot of fun then so I knew we would have fun again!!! Meet some more of his cousins that he loves:-)

This happens to be one of my favorite images from the whole session! As we sat on the grass and talked, made funny faces, laughed and just had fun, I caught some of the best images!

As I captured the images of "Mimi and Papa" it was so fun to see them laugh and joke around! This makes my "job" so much more fun and relaxed!

I think they have a beautiful family and a lot to be happy about! Your grandkids are precious and were so fun!

Can I just say that it was an amazing day!!!

It's always fun for me to meet new people, because I love people! I am known as the social butterfly in my family! Nothing makes me happier than being with people.

I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to teach this second basic photography class. Seeing people learn and enjoy what they are doing is such a reward to me. That's why I love teaching.

The day started off at the Home School Cottage in Slidell. A quick introduction of myself,

then everyone else...we all became friends and went straight to the first project!

I want to share a few of the pictures that won the contests at the workshop.

Our first project of the morning was to "Fill the Frame"- they had 10 minutes to go outside and capture 5 images that were "fill the frame". We all voted and this image won!!!

Congratulations to Mrs. Debbie who won!!!

The second project of the morning was "Thirds". Again they had 10 minutes to go outside and find 5 images with a subject placed on a third. After the final vote...Mrs. Kim won!!!

Seeing these images make me super happy!

After more class time we packed up and headed to the park for one last project!

Amazing Year | Erin Rachel Photography

I cannot even believe that a year ago today marks a YEAR that I actually started a photography business. When I was asked to shoot Tara & Derek's wedding I was super excited yet super nervous:-) This was a major step for me...Looking back I pretty much shot the whole wedding on faith! A good photography friend told me that I would either love shooting weddings or hate it. I have to say I loved every minute of the wedding day! I knew from that day on that I wanted to shoot weddings...the emotions are amazing, the bride and groom are gorgeous, the wedding parties are fun, you have to be on "your toes" all day long, and before you know it 10 hours have passed by like it was 30- mintues!

Tara and Derek Happy Anniversary!!!! Thank you for having confidence in me to capture your special day! Also congratulations with Baby #1 on the way!!! So excited for y'all!!!!!!

Today started with the second be Inspired | Basic Photography Workshop which by the way was a total blast with amazing people!

I finished the day off with a session of an incredibly good looking family.
